Money and Love

The saying goes money can't buy you happiness. Others will say money can't buy happiness but can buy you expensive sheets to cry on. I sit here tonight wishing I could kick younger me in the ass for how she handled money. Old Sue just bought on impulse and racked up credit card debt. Now, sometimes it would be, go into debt or go hungry, and if you know me, this bitch ain't going hungry.

I often wonder what life would be like back then with the knowledge I know now. The now sue is paying for old sue uneducated and sometimes downright irresponsible choices when it came to money and, to be frank love.

I am in love with love. Everything about love makes me feel like I could fly to the moon. However, the only place I use to end up in was heartbreak central in between reg flags ave and toxic street. I always feel head over heels in love with my partner but never for myself.

On my more recent journey to love myself, I find it challenging and at times downright impossible to express it. The old me and even me now are so (IMO) full of flaws and scars. How do you love someone who made your life so hard? How do you love someone who stopped caring about you? How do you love someone who let and made you feel so low?

How do you let go and thank your old toxic self? I have started to forgive the me that didn't love me. It is hard sometimes though as it feels like being friends with your ex. You can forgive them but still, vividly remember how they broke you.

So if money can't buy happiness, where do you get it? I know you are responsible for your own happiness, but when your track record sucks, how do you trust yourself again?

When it comes to money and love, Where do you go after you start over?
